Learning About Used Salon Furniture

So lately I’ve been wondering about used salon furniture.
Money’s tight, and starting a business in this economy is a scary proposition.
I’m checking into my options with regard to used styling chairs. There appear to be some good choices out there. I’m just hoping I can find some pieces in good enough condition.
I figure a new piece of salon furniture will be used after a couple of weeks, anyway. Clients will never know the difference.

If I

had a million dollars I’d first invest it (ok, now that the market has dropped like a lead balloon that seems like a stupid move, but hey over the long run it is the wise move….we’ll say I invest in CD’s or bonds, something low risk) and then live off the interest.  After buying some things I’ve been eyeing like a dermanew microdermabrasion system, and a new invisible dog fence, I’d send half of the interest every year to World Vision and just live normally where I am now…not moving, not buying extravagant cars or jewelry.  That’s why 95% of lottery winners are back to their same financial position (or worse) within 5 years!  No discipline, poor mentality and money flees away naturally.

It’s finally time to start shopping for used beauty salon equipment. My budget is limited for getting the new business off the ground, so used equipment looks like the best way to go.

I’ve been working in the salon business forever, now, and I’d really love to own my own salon. I’ve been pricing beauty salon equipment on the net, though, and it sure is expensive.
Searching Salon Hair Products has been particularly eye-opening. This stuff is expensive! I guess it’s because of the low volume of customers, but still.
